Baby Moon Photo Session at New Smyrna Beach
This Baby Moon maternity session took place at New Smyrna Beach in Florida.
Morgan and Tanner were on an annual family vacation from Tennessee to New Smyrna Beach, and they decided to sneak in a maternity session at sunrise before the rest of their family woke up. It was a magical moment between just the two of them!
We started off this playful New Smyrna beach session in outfits that they had picked out, and then we switched to a green button down dress from Reclamation Design Company for some exposed belly shots.
I couldn’t have loved this session more, and the connection that was captured.
What is a “Baby Moon?”
A “babymoon” is a vacation or getaway that expectant parents take before the birth of their little one. The term is a play on the word “honeymoon,” reflecting the idea of a special, romantic trip taken before a major life event. A babymoon is an opportunity for couples to relax, connect, and enjoy some quality time together before the demands of parenthood begin. Though it doesn’t have to take place at New Smyrna Beach, it’s one of my top suggestions!

- For many, it’s also a chance to reflect on the journey ahead, plan for the future, and talk about their hopes and expectations for parenthood.

- Babymoons can be as simple or as luxurious as the couple wants! Some might choose a local weekend getaway, while others may opt for an international destination. The key is choosing a place that allows for relaxation, whether it’s a beach resort, a mountain retreat, or a peaceful countryside location. My vote is New Smyrna Beach!.

The only sounds were the waves crashing against the sand, as there was barely a breeze and hardly anyone on the beach around us. This beach is particularly spectacular at sunrise, and the small town it resides in is the perfect Baby Moon getaway.
New Smyrna Beach will always hold a special place in my heart. It seems to be one of the most relaxing beach spots for vacations, photo sessions, and even just exploring together as a family.
